Hilary Tsui and fellow stylistas run hot and cold at sizzling Fendi preview

The light, flowing dresses and separates revealed at the Fendi spring-summer preview at Domani stood in colourful contrast to the ubiquitous black wool and down donned by guests entering the restaurant from the blustery weather outside on Tuesday.

With each gust of cold air that blew in through the large glass doors, models caught near the entrance during the show had to mask their reaction and soldier on in skirts and sandals.

Stylista Hilary Tsui Ho-ying was one of the celebrities invited to model pieces from the collection, and sacrifice warmth and comfort for fashion.

'I found out about the outfit and open-toed shoes yesterday and realised that my hands and feet needed emergency grooming.' Tsui, in a turquoise dress with bare legs and platform sandals, said.

'So I went to my salon for a mani-pedi last night; on the way home I got some incredulous stares on the street - for wearing a fur coat with rolled up jeans and flip-flops. That was one of those instances when you realise the kind of pain and cold you endure for the sake of fashion.'

Tsui said she was not usually bothered by the cold, but recent weather has driven her indoors more often than normal. Luckily she has six-year-old daughter Constance to keep her company while husband singer Eason Chan Yik-shun, now at the top of his game, braves the cold to bring home the bacon.
