Jill Tan-Gunter, vice-president (human resources), Marco Polo Hotels
Tan-Gunter has 30 years' experience in the hospitality industry, including about 19 years in executive positions. She was previously Asia-Pacific area director of human resources for Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, based in Singapore. 'With the expansion of our group's luxury hotels in China and regionally, her experience will be very beneficial,' says president Steve Kleinschmidt.
Jeffrey Soong, managing director (Taiwan), Celestial Pictures
Soong will work closely with Celestial's Hong Kong headquarters and its Beijing branch office to achieve the company's strategic goals. 'With his proven record of achievements, commercial acumen and all-around media experience, he will be a valuable asset as we expand our businesses in Taiwan,' says CEO Ross Pollack. Soong was most recently CEO and managing director of Infinio Group.
Xin Li, Asian business development director, Christie's
Based in New York, Li will be responsible for developing new business in Asia and managing relations with private collectors from the mainland and Asia. 'This newly created position reflects Christie's long-term commitment to Asia. Li's appointment will enhance our capability to fulfil the needs of Asian and Chinese collectors who are increasingly looking for the best works of art around the world,' says Francois Curiel, Christie's president of Asia.
