The JVC HD Everio GZ-HM650 offers full HD video at 1920 x 1080 resolution from a 3.3 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor, 8GB of internal flash memory and a 40x optical zoom lens. That configuration will still give you six hours of recording at the highest bit rate and up to 53 hours at the lowest-quality resolution.

There are many benefits to using flash memory, such as the quick-start feature, which allows you to turn the camera on in an instant for those unexpected moments you want to watch again and again. It also allows the GZ-HM650 to be much smaller, lighter and less power-intensive, so the battery life is longer.

One of the highlights of the camera is its Konica Minolta HD lens, which offers a maximum aperture of f1.8 to let lots of light into the sensor. This, combined with JVC's Super LoLux technology, means you'll be able to record video in very low light conditions without the need for external light. The GZ-HM650 has a 2.7-inch touch screen, image stabiliser, face recognition and K2 technology for enhanced audio recording,

The GZ-HM650 is listed at HK$4,680.
