Douglas Whyte is a top value bet at his opening quote of $5 in today's Jockey Challenge at Sha Tin, with $3.75 favourite Gerald Mosse and the continually over-bet Maxime Guyon taking up much of the top end of the market.

Mosse is a genuine danger to Whyte and deserves to be near the top of betting, but Guyon - who hasn't ridden a winner in his past 33 starts - must be considered under the odds at $5.50.

Whyte lacks his usual line-up of favourites, but the Durban Demon still boasts the firepower to topple his rivals - care of a strong finish to his book.

Ferrabosco has trialled well and can get Whyte on the board in race two with a drop back to Class Five, while Goodview Successor cannot be dismissed over 2,000m in race four.

If his big dangers haven't built a sizeable lead by the mid-point of the card after Whyte takes the ride on Beautiful Choice, they will struggle to match the champion over the final half of the meeting.

Double Dragon and Showtime have strong each-way claims, while Chater Way is a knockout hope in the feature Stewards' Cup, but is more likely a minor chance against the top-rated gallopers.
