Le Pain Quotidien

Colaba goes international this month, welcoming Belgian bakery-cafe, Le Pain Quotidien, to the Dhanraj Mahal neighbourhood. With a presence in more than 19 countries, 'The Daily Bread' offers the freshest ingredients from old European recipes, with a focus on freshly-baked bread - wheat, rye, brioche, and croissants, to name a few - soups, salads, open-faced sandwiches, hot dishes and desserts.

The venue offers diners a Belgian countryside ambiance. The dining room is festooned with rustic tapered walls and a long communal table that invokes a relaxed and informal environment - suited for a casual meeting or coffee break during the workday. The pain au chocolate, blueberry muffin, and baker's basket are perfect for a quick midday snack, and best accompanied with a choice of the cafe's teas, coffees or iced drinks.

A full breakfast spread - including granola parfait, crepes and Belgian waffles - stays true to the cafe's endless variety of healthy items on offer. The broad selection of hot dishes also makes this a great destination for an early dinner. Dessert favourites include the soft-centred chocolate cake, cookie platter and fresh fruit tarts.

Open seven days a week from 8am till 11.30pm, Le Pain Quotidien is a 10-minute walk from the Gateway of India and the five-star Taj Mahal Palace hotel.
