A deaf 76-year-old was freed yesterday after winning an appeal against a 16-month jail term for fraud. Leung Chung-kee, who had served about six months, was released on humanitarian grounds by Court of First Instance judge Madam Justice Esther Toh Lye-ping. He claimed more than HK$335,000 in welfare over 24 years while running a stall selling pornography.
