Early stage of heart disease kills 1 in 3

One in three patients in the early stage of heart disease die, a University of Hong Kong study shows. Researchers looked into 93 patients aged 50 or above admitted to hospitals from 1998 to 2005, and found that after 51 months, 46 per cent died. Among 60 patients who were deemed to be in the early stage of illness, the mortality rate still reached 33 per cent.
