With Bangkok taste buds maturing quicker than ever, new wine bars seem to be popping up everywhere. Wine 33 is among the latest, and is quickly making a name with the city's movers and shakers. The venue presents customers with a quality selection of wines broken down into the good, better and best. International bottles from across the world are on offer along with locally-made wines from the PB Valley winery in Khao Yai, the main wine-producing region in Thailand. PB Valley itself is owned by the Singha Group, which partnered with foodies from local restaurant Pla Dib to create Wine 33. Equal emphasis is placed on the food as on the wine here, with a menu heavy on raw fish. Enough alcohol-soaking red meat options can be found, alongside their top-selling deep-fried lotus root appetiser. The interior boasts an industrial-retro aesthetic, similar to the microbrewery, Est. 33, which is just around the corner. The venue is part of the hip Crystal Design Centre complex, that's home to showrooms, exhibition halls, a business lounge and offices. Wine 33 tones perfectly with the surroundings. Inside, a long high-ceilinged space greets customers, and quirky furnishings bring industrial chic to the area. Address Crystal Design Centre, 1420/1 Praditmanoontham Road Telephone +66 02102 2233
