A gutsy run from Tailwind turned the tables on the heavily supported favourite Rich Unicorn with trainer Me Tsui Yu-sak and jockey Howard Cheng Yue-tin combining to claim The Skol Cup (1,200m). Cheng allowed his lightweight to catch plenty of breeze in the run but, once the spinnaker was hoisted, his navigation proved most astute and the pair clung on to hold out Rich Unicorn (Douglas Whyte) and reverse the pair's last-start placings. 'Tailwind is just an honest, honest horse. Before he arrived here from Australia he would just run placing after placing, so with an eight-pound advantage on last time, he was able to swing the result in his favour,' Tsui said. 'The little bit of water in the track also helped him, he had done well on soft ground in Australia and to look at his feet, they are very big broad hooves that are suitable for a soft track.'
