Le French May

Get ready for an invasion of all things Gallic: as its name suggests, Le French May will subject Hong Kong to an array of French cinema, arts and music during May - and even earlier, with celebrations starting on April 15.

Le French May promises some rather diverse music acts, including classical works by Renaud Capucon and Frank Braley, who will perform Beethoven sonatas at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts from April 25-27. Violinist Laurent Korcia will perform a selection of classic film scores with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta at City Hall on April 15 and 16.

Contemporary visual artist Adrien Mondot will perform his Cinematique, which combines hypnotic dance with digital imagery to create a surreal experience worthy of the grand jury prize at Digital Bath #4, at City Hall on June 22 and 23.

The celebrations aren't restricted to the arts as restaurants across the city will have French-themed menus on offer.

In June, Le French Fashion will take over Pacific Place with an exhibition dedicated to the production of perfume.

Tickets are available at Urbtix outlets and HK Ticketing.
