MORNING Star Properties has been appointed sole agent for a residential and commercial complex in Guangzhou. Morning Star will release 200 flats and 200 fully furnished office units in Guangzhou from tomorrow. There is also an 80,000-square-foot entertainment centre housing restaurants, theatres and shops for rent. The Tiancheng residential tower and commercial centre are the second phase of the Dragon Plaza development begun last year. The first phase, the Tianlung residential tower, saw all 90 flats sold within 10 days of release last December. About 80 per cent of its commercial space is occupied at $2,500 a sq ft. Dragon Plaza is a joint venture between the Australian-based Lung Cheong and the Tianhe district government. Lung Cheong's executive director V. C. Van said he expected a 30 per cent return on the second phase.
