AN ingenious advert promoting J & B Rare Scotch Whisky last Christmas has won top honours in the Reader's Digest sixth annual Global Pegasus awards.
The winning submission had a two-line headline, ''Ingle ells, ingle ells'' and one line of copy which read: ''The festive season isn't the same without J & B.'' It was placed by South African agency Tholet, Sievers and Associates of Cape Town and was created by the Grace Rothschild agency in New York.
Dorothy Au, advertising director in Hong Kong, said: ''The Global Pegasus awards are the biggest global promotion we sponsor, which recognises creative excellence in the pages of Reader's Digest and it's the only award that is judged simultaneously by independent panels worldwide.'' Among the judges in Hong Kong in March were executive creative directors Stoney Mudd, of McCann Erickson Asia Pacific, and Christen Monge, of DDB Needham Worldwide.
