THE eighth-largest bank in Germany, Bayerische Landesbank Girozentrale, has won a banking licence to conduct business in Hong Kong. The bank has been operating a representative office in the territory since 1991. Its proposed branch will initially concentrate on project financing and corporate lending. Commercial and merchant banking services will follow.
