Stab frenzy woman sent to Siu Lam
A SCHIZOPHRENIC with a long history of drug abuse was yesterday sent to Siu Lam Psychiatric Centre for two years for stabbing her father to death after injecting herself with heroin.
Tam Wai-ling, 43, denied a charge of murder, but High Court Deputy Judge Daniell accepted her guilty plea on a lesser charge of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
Christopher Newall, for the Crown, told the court the stabbing occurred on July 19 last year.
Tam had separated from her husband and was living with her father.
The court heard that Tam had twice injected herself with heroin in the kitchen before taking a knife into the living room and stabbing her father.
