Rude awakening for IIs
Out of step . . . three illegal immigrants were arrested during a stop-and-search operation by police at the foot of Lion Rock, near Wong Tai Sin, at 10.30 am yesterday. Residents of Tsui Chuk Garden spotted the scantily-dressed men and reported them. The trio, aged between 23 and 33, were woken by officers as they slept inside a shelter made of wood and branches, which had been built behind rocks to hide from residents. They told police they came by boat to look for jobs, and had left Taishan, Guangdong, early this week. They paid between 1,000 and 1,500 yuan (HK$892 and HK$1,338).
