PAUL Kwok, meet Arnold Schwarzenegger. The meeting between the Hong Kong-born chef and the Austrian ''Oak'' will take place on Sunday at the gala opening of Planet Hollywood.

The men will actually meet on paper: the menu of Planet Hollywood where Arnie's favourite apple strudel (Frau Schwarzenegger's recipe) will hold court with Mr Kwok's style of e-fu noodles with abalone and a few other Chinese specialities.

But diners, beware! The tough choices will tug at all culinary persuasions.

Along with American classics will be Mr Kwok's local specialities such as spring rolls, seafood pizza, pot stickers, roasted duck salad and sweetened red bean cream with glutinous dumpling.

While the menu relies heavily on American bar cuisine, Mr Kwok will ensure that the whims of Chinese customers will also be catered for.

There will be burgers and Caesar salad, brownies and pizza, coleslaw and Texas nachos, four types of faijitas, malts and shakes, vegetable pasta with pesto sauce, grilled steak and pork chops and a veggie burger with all the trimmings on a Kaiser roll.

The 11-year veteran of Planet Hollywood and Hard Rock Cafes in Thailand, London, Chicago, Florida and California says he will assess the situation and take things ''day by day''.
