Top team plots espionage film

SYDNEY Pollack will produce and direct The Night Manager from Robert Towne's screenplay of John Le Carre's best-selling whodunit.

Pollack and Towne most recently collaborated on the major hit movie The Firm, starring Tom Cruise.

The Night Manager deals with the post-Cold War network of espionage involving an international cartel of illegal arms dealers, drug smugglers and murder for hire.

Katie Wagner has joined the team of Robin Leach and Shari Belafonte in Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.

Inasmuch as Wagner has been a part of that lifestyle since infancy, she will be right at home as a correspondent for the show. This autumn, however, the series has been re-titled Lifestyles with Robin Leach and Shari Belafonte.
