DEFENDING champion trainer John Moore can't notch four successive titles but, complete professional that he is, he will go to the last race on the last day chasing every possible winner.

He looks to have a particularly good chance with Splendid in tomorrow night's St George's Challenge Cup, the fifth event on Happy Valley's English Derby card.

Splendid is racing for the second time for the Moore camp and looks to be a typical example of a racing phenomenon that has been so important from a winner-finding point of view over the last few season.

Stable changes is the system in question with Lawrie Fownes' Saturday night winner at Sha Tin, Trust Myself, being the latest in a long line of changes that have highlighted this point.

Trust Myself scored at the first time of asking for Fownes, was unlucky not to win again when missing the start on his subsequent outing and then made it two from three when getting home late to beat Thor Win at the weekend.

Splendid joined Moore a couple of months ago and appears to have made good physical progress for the move.
