FORMER Hong Kong Polytechnic principal lecturer Trevor Sofield, sacked after an internal inquiry into problems in his department, has launched a scathing attack on the inquiry.
It was his first detailed response to the inquiry since he was told last Friday to leave the polytechnic within 24 hours.
At a press conference at the entrance to the Hunghom institution yesterday, he issued a four-page statement which listed 14 accusations against and challenges to the polytechnic.
But his statement came as 24 of his former 36 colleagues in the Hotel and Tourism Management Department jointly supported a motion to back the management decision.
The motion declared the lecturers' support for the goal to move forward constructively, and restore harmony and co-operation for the benefits of the students.
It also said recent criticisms against the management did not reflect the views of the majority of the staff.
