A FORMER ATV acting executive producer yesterday admitted he made a false representation in order to receive payment for the translation of a television script.
Wan Pak-yuen, 37, faced two counts of procuring the execution of a valuable security for a total of $18,000 on September 1 and October 18 last year.
He pleaded guilty to one count and the Crown offered no evidence on the other.
San Po Kong Magistrate Bruce McNair sentenced Wan to six months' imprisonment suspended for 18 months and fined him $5,000.
Wan was accused of procuring a cheque for $9,000 from Asia Television Limited by falsely representing it was payable to his wife Tam To-kwan for translation of scripts for the programme Beautiful Summer Delight.
The cheque was deposited into Tam's account and spent, the court heard.
