School daze as GM learns the hard way
RUBBING his hands with glee, Excelsior GM Liam Lambert could hardly contain his excitement at going back to school.
Not any old school mind. It was the Harvard Business School and he was off to take up the prestigious seat of learning's Advanced Management Programme.
But it was not scholarly thoughts but the more down-to-earth ones of getting three months away from office routine that occupied his mind when he arrived at the hallowed halls.
However, after one look at his new timetable he must have wished he could catch the next flight back.
For classes started at 7 am, with group discussions until 8.45 am followed by lectures from 9.15 am to 3.30 pm.
After lunch and a quick break it was back to the lecture room at 7 pm, with the lectures sometimes going on until midnight.
