A TWO-TIMING husband whose mistress allegedly chopped his wife up after burning her body in a bath yesterday branded his ex-lover a ''wicked and jealous'' woman.

  Law Fuk-shing also said Chin Yin-ho, a grandmother, had previously threatened to commit suicide and ''drag his wife to lie in the same coffin''.

  Roast meat vendor Chin, 46, allegedly murdered love rival Chung Chor-kuen, 32, in a row over a stall Mr Law had given her.

  After burning and dismembering the body, she got her 10-year-old granddaughter to help scatter the charred remains on a Tai Po hillside, the High Court heard.

  Yesterday Mr Law, 33, said Chin had made threats on several occasions after claiming she had given birth to two sons fathered by him.

  He told the jury: ''Right from the beginning of the relationship I didn't want to stay with her.

  ''Initially she threatened to commit suicide and later she claimed she had given birth to two sons for me.

  ''She said if she was to die together with our sons then she would drag along my wife and daughter to lie in the same coffin.

  ''At that time in my mind I really hated this woman, but I thought she had really given birth to two sons for me.''   Mr Law, who ran three roast meat stalls, admitted he continued to have sex with Chin up to four times a week after telling his wife he had finished the affair.

  He said he last made love to Chin at his outlet in Tai Po market just 10 days before she killed his wife at her flat in Plover Cove Garden, Tai Po.

  Mr Law, who had been married to Chung for 12 years, told the jury how he set Chin up in a roast meat business near her home.

  But he said she became bitter when he allowed a competitor to run another stall nearby and tried to force him out.

 Mr Law claimed: ''This woman is wicked and she was trying to drive the other owner into a dead end. On seeing he was doing very good business she became jealous.''   Defence counsel Anthony Mitchell-Heggs claimed Mr Law was trying to blacken his former lover's name because his feelings had changed.

 But Mr Law replied: ''That's incorrect. She is in fact as bad as that.''   He also strongly denied suggestions he was a ''gold digger'' and had borrowed $100,000 from Chin during their four-year affair.

  Earlier prosecutor Paul Dinan told the court Chin murdered Chung in a row over the meat stall after Mr Law cancelled the licence.

  He said Chin strangled her victim with a baby carrier after abducting her from her home on July 5 last year and tying her to a chair.

  Afterwards the grandmother, who admits manslaughter but denies murder, dragged the body to the bathroom, where she doused it in alcohol and set it on fire, counsel said.

  Chin then chopped up the corpse and parcelled it in three plastic bags as her granddaughter slept in a nearby room, the court heard.

  Yesterday, government officer Chung Yuk-yee, who lived opposite Chin, told the court she noticed a ''stinky scorching smell'' coming from the direction of her neighbour's flat on the day Chung was allegedly murdered.
