STAR TV and Dubai Radio Television (DRT) have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a large distribution and co-production pact.

  Emirates Dubai TV programming will be broadcast across the Middle East, and STAR TV's services will enter the United Arab Emirates.

  Dubai Cable Vision, a subsidiary of DRT, will also promote and distribute STAR's new Hindi and western movie channel, set for launch this autumn.

  The collaboration will extend to joint promotions of all future encrypted STAR TV channels in the UAE.

  When STAR starts broadcasting from the AsiaSat 2 satellite in the second quarter of next year, DRT's international channel will be carried alongside the STAR channels, to reach more than 200 million viewers in Asia and the Middle East.
