I AM fond of ballroom dancing and often used to practise with friends at the Urban Council's indoor games hall complex, in Kwun Chung Street, Kowloon.
In order to fully utilise the time hired for practising and because we feel we have a right to choose, we have, in the past, brought along our own hi-fi to dancing practice. We used to plug it in at the games hall. Unfortunately, this arrangement was interrupted recently, as the management of the games hall cut off the power supply to our hi-fi. They insisted that we use the games hall's hi-fi system and, of course, we were charged for using it. We feel annoyed. We trust that our municipal councils will provide the best environment, in terms of hygiene, culture and recreation, for the people of Hong Kong. Management staff should have shown more flexibility and initiative.
I don't object to the imposition of electricity charges, but users should still be allowed to bring their own equipment if they wish.
