Wrong time for adult film

ON the morning of June 7, typhoon signal No 3 was hoisted and kindergartens were closed. Children were kept home and had to be entertained. Many people, I am sure, reached for the TV button in the hope of entertaining their children. What would be more natural than for TV stations to put on cartoons, Sesame Street or similar programme for the under fives. Pearl had other ideas.

It did show programmes during its usual close down period, but I have my reservations as to the appropriateness of a rather poor 1960s-style film with Michael Caine, Elizabeth Taylor and Susannah York in some sort of love tangle, climbing in and out of bed with each other. I did not bother to find out the name of the film as I used the off switch. There is nothing wrong with these films if shown at different times, but surely not at 11 am when the majority of the audience is of pre-school age.
