The 39-year-old decorator has pleaded not guilty to three counts of indecent assault from September 1992 to July 13 last year.

Prosecutor Christina Ma said they were only sample charges as the defendant had admitted to police, under caution, that he indecently assaulted the girl when under the influence of alcohol on more than 10 occasions.

Miss Ma said the defendant was the cousin of the victim's father and was referred to her as uncle. The victim, her grandmother and the defendant lived together in a Kowloon flat.

On July 12 last year, the grandmother saw the victim in the accused's room late at night and called her out. She later questioned the victim who told her that she had been indecently assaulted by the defendant.
