A TASTE of Hong Kong's elegant party spirit came to Singapore when Wheelock chairman Peter Woo and his wife Bessie hosted a gala dinner at the Mandarin ballroom to celebrate the opening of the company's new venture in the Lion City - Lane Crawford Place.

  Dignitaries from Singapore joined more than 20 leading ladies from Hong Kong's socialite elite who flew over for the glittering occasion. Adding a regal touch were members of Malaysian royalty, including the Sultan and Sultana of Johor.

  Among the Hong Kong guests were Ivy Wu, Ruth Kuok, Dr Leong Che-hung and Lilian Leong, Kathryn Louey and Rita Liu.
