I AM concerned about the quality of service provided by China Motor Bus Company, in particular, in the Chai Wan and Siu Sai Wan areas.
Siu Sai Wan is a rapidly expanding housing estate.
As more and more people are moving into this estate, the problems with the poor bus services provided by CMB are reaching a point which is totally unacceptable.
I moved into Siu Sai Wan nine months ago, and have a number of complaints: The frequency of the No 8, especially buses returning to Siu Sai Wan during the evening period, is inadequate. This problem requires immediate action.
The No 788 service requires immediate monitoring to ensure it is operating according to schedule. On occasions, I have not been able to find a single No. 788 bus operating during non-peak hours (for example, at 10am on weekdays). All No 788 buses appear to be replaced by No 780 buses, which stop more frequently and take much longer to travel to the terminus.
In general, I find CMB buses to be in a poor hygienic condition, both the interior and the outside of the vehicles. I am particularly worried about the pollution from the engine, which affects passengers both waiting at the bus stop and sitting down on the lower deck.
