LOCAL students wishing to sample the Japanese way of life and culture as well as pursuing their studies in the country, can now make their dream come true - thanks to a scholarship fund offered by the Japan Society of Hong Kong.
The scholarship programme was launched two years ago by the society to mark its 30th anniversary.
The awards are open to competition, and candidates from various areas of study at degree or non-degree levels will be considered.
Since, the scholarship programme is open to people from all walks of life, it does not place sole emphasis on academic achievement.
The main purpose of the scholarship, funded by the Hong Kong Japanese Club, is to promote the study of Japanese language and culture.
The organisers also hope to enhance mutual understanding between the people of Hong Kong and Japan, through the programme.
