RUSSIAN vice girls in Macau have spoken out about their fears of returning to Vladivostok following the mafia killings of four people.
Inquiries reveal that the cold-blooded execution of Gary Alderdice and his 20-year-old blonde companion, Natalia Samofalova, came hard on the heels of the murders in Vladivostok of two other prostitutes who had recently returned from the enclave.
Now the prostitutes who work the clubs and casinos of Macau say they are too scared to return home, fearing they too will be murdered by hoodlums eager to steal their savings.
A Sunday Morning Post investigation has uncovered the ruthless way in which women are exploited by the Russian mafia, which some believe is even more powerful than its legendary Italian counterpart.
Although these women line the pockets of mobsters and pimps, there is still no guarantee of their safety when they return home.
For many there is no escape, but their sordid ordeal in Macau is seen as a marked improvement on their upbringing in Vladivostok. Many of them were raped at an early age and the only available work in the port city was mob-related.
