ABERDEEN shoppers yesterday generally gave seafood the thumbs-down - at least for a short time - following the discovery of cholera bacteria in the typhoon shelter there. Miss Kwong of Ap Lei Chau had mixed feelings. ''We do not think it is dangerous. Just cook the fish longer and it will be safe,'' she said, holding a saltwater fish in her hand. ''But we dare not go to that restaurant for the time being,'' she added, referring to the Ko Po Kok restaurant in Ap Lei Chau Street which was linked to a cholera case. Mrs Chu, of Ap Lei Chau, said: ''I dare not buy living seafood, but this one is all right because it is dead and it is a deepwater fish.'' Another man denied that the fish he was holding was for him. ''I will not buy saltwater fish myself now. The one I am holding is for my friend, not me.''
