I REFER to Mr Anthony Hill's letter headlined, ''No to drink at work'' (South China Morning Post, July 4).

The Society of Registered Safety Officers fully supports Mr Hill's idea of prohibiting the consumption of alcoholic drinks at worksites. Management should have an alcohol-free policy at construction sites, to eliminate the chance of the workforce having access to alcohol while at work. The lack of research by institutions in Hong Kong into the influence of alcohol/drugs at the workplace is disappointing. Remember, alcohol is a form of ''drug''.
