SHENZHEN B shares fell yesterday in trading marked by several large price swings on low turnover.
The Credit Lyonnais Shenzhen B Index fell 18.66 points, or 1.74 per cent, to 1,051.03. The A-share index slipped 5.54 points, or 0.64 per cent, to close at 833.95.
Bloomberg reported that total turnover was just $1.46 million, with trading in SEZ Properties accounting for 47 per cent of the total.
The day's biggest faller was Shenbao, which has the regional franchise for Pepsico. Shenbao shares fell 9.5 per cent to $1.90, with just 12,000 shares changing hands.
China Southern Glass fell 4.9 per cent to $7.80 with just 4,000 shares traded.
''Four thousand shares, it doesn't mean anything,'' said Quinny Cheung, an analyst with Standard Chartered Securities.
