YOUR correspondent A. G. Cooper has certainly got his facts wrong (Sunday Morning Post, July 10). ''Defender of The Faith'' would probably never have made its appearance in the constitution if Henry VIII had not fallen out with the Pope who would not let him have his own way.
When Henry realised he couldn't have his bit on the side and still be a member of the Catholic church, did he despair? Not a bit. He just went along and set up his own mob. Jesus had nothing to do with it.
For centuries now the church, never mind the denomination, has been attempting to knock spots off the other side. Is this what Mr Cooper, along with countless others, determines to be Christianity? Perhaps Prince Charles has a little more Christian fellowship in him than some would allow! Does spiritual leadership confine one to a particular religion and discount all others? Is that exactly how God and Jesus wanted their message to be interpreted? It may be, in this instance, that Prince Charles has studied the Parables more closely than many of his detractors.
