Customs officers discovered five packets containing 2.99 kilograms hidden in the lining of the leather bag after she arrived on a flight from Bangkok, the court heard.

Prosecutor J. C. L. Yau said Florence Ndaba, 28, had left for Bangkok on August 30 last year and returned the next day.

Customs officers became suspicious when she tried to hurry past without looking at them.

Ndaba, who had arrived in the territory from Johannesburg shortly before the Bangkok trip, admits the heroin was in her bag, but denies one count of trafficking.
