PASSENGERS on the Kowloon-Canton Railway (KCR) on Monday should keep an eye out for two undercover staff on the lookout for courteous riders.

Three passengers stand to be awarded $800 in free gifts and tickets for the closing pop concert of the ''Be a Considerate Passenger'' campaign. The concert, organised by RTHK, will be held on August 7.

KCR spokesman Doris Shu said the selection programme was a key part of the drive, involving the five main transport operators in Hong Kong, to educate the public about courtesy on public transport.

Similar selections will also be made by the other operators - the Mass Transit Railway, the Light Rail Transit, Hong Kong Ferry and Kowloon Motor Bus.

The two-week campaign begins on Monday.

The operators have published a pamphlet called the Courtesy Almanac, outlining do's and don'ts for passengers.
