THE arrest of two men in a Diamond Hill flat last Monday has led to the seizure in the United States of US$2 million (HK$15.4 million) worth of heroin, a machine-gun, two cars, US$20,000 in cash and the detention of two people.
Hong Kong Customs and the US Drug Enforcement Administration mounted a joint operation after the two Hong Kong men were arrested and heroin found in the flat on Monday.
Authorities said the suspects revealed they had posted a stuffed toy containing 600 grams of heroin to Lowell, Massachusetts - the eighth drug parcel allegedly sent to the US over the past few weeks.
The toy was retrieved by customs at Kai Tak and an officer took it to the US.
After three days of surveillance, the seizure of drugs, cash and cars was made in Lowell.
The two suspects held in the US were both Chinese-American. One was believed to be a member of the US-based ''Ghost Shadow'' syndicate.
