I KNOW it is politically incorrect to put the slightest blame on a rape victim, and many people will disagree with what I have to say.
Miss Gill Martin (Sunday Morning Post, July 17) must have thought it was one of her ''rights and freedoms'' to walk out of a pub late at night and take a stroll along the beach all alone in a strange place where men loom all over looking for sex.
I suppose it is one of my rights and freedoms to leave my wallet unguarded in Mongkok too. In theory, if everyone in this world behaves, I will never be robbed. But in the real world, I will forgo my rights and freedoms and do everything I can to prevent crime happening to me.
They say rape is not sex but a violent crime; I think many are sex-driven, and some are preventable.
