I INVITE the Postmaster General to consider the following suggestion to cut costs, increase revenue, and at the same time improve postal delivery service.
Stop all free delivery of parcels and registered mail that is not actually delivered to addressed receivers in person.
Items are routinely left with a standard printed card alleging that there was no answer when the postman called at the address.
Sometimes the cards do not even include the date when the postman was said to have called.
I have experienced several such cases recently even though there has always been at least one person at home.
Let the private sector help provide the service. The Government could merely oversee the private sector's delivery of the service Y.L. CHOI Hong Kong
