SCMP Reporter

FUNG Cheung Kee Group began work yesterday on a $27.5 million contract to build an elevated walkway bridging the Cross Harbour Tunnel toll plaza in Hunghom with Tsim Sha Tsui East. The work, combined with a road-widening job on Austin Road, brings the total value of contracts with the Highways Department to more than $36 million.

    The group said those contracts represented a move to undertake more infrastructural and civil engineering projects instead of its mainly superstructural work for the government.
