OOCL expands office network on mainland
WITH 13 representative offices in China, Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) now has one of the largest shipping presences in the mainland.
Three more were opened this month - in Beijing, Fuzhou and Ningbo - to meet growing customer demands and cargo requirements.
They provide full agency services with on-line communications links to OOCL's global network of booking, documentation and cargo-tracking systems.
OOCL, which is also investing in an inland terminal in Shanghai, recently improved its Shanghai-Japan feeder service.
''OOCL's aim is to make it more efficient and cost-effective for customers moving shipments to and from the world's fastest-growing economy,'' said Kim Balling, OOCL's general manager of corporate marketing.
''OOCL provides a comprehensive transportation and logistics service, from intermodal to warehousing.'' From China, OOCL has several feeder connections to Hong Kong and Japan main-line services, as well as a network of truck routes from the southern mainland.
