The Hong Kong leg of the world's largest outdoor basketball competition, the Reebok 3-on-3 World Championships, will tip off on the courts of Causeway Bay's Victoria Park this weekend.
Postponed from last weekend because of the inclement weather, the event promises to be a sporting extravaganza for the hundreds of boys in the under-19 and under-16 age categories who had filled up all the 96 available team slots.
''Once again the kids from the community have responded like lightning to the 3-on-3 tournament. Not only will they get a chance to show off their basketball skills and experience the thrill of a formal competition, but they will also get a chance to have fun, win prizes and meet new friends,'' said Laiman Tam, director and general manager of Reebok Hong Kong.
