Having lost by 252 runs to Bangladesh in their tournament opener on Sunday, Hong Kong were subjected to a further hammering yesterday, losing by a humiliating 303 runs to Papua New Guinea.
Electing to bat after winning the toss, PNG put on a massive 364 (all out) in their 50 overs. Hong Kong's run chase never materialised as they were bowled out for a dismal 61.
''Our batting has been terrible so far,'' said Krish Chandran, manager of the Hong Kong team.

PNG's opening bowler G. Morea made life difficult for the territory's batsmen with a vicious spell of 10 overs, five maidens, three for 12. There was only one scoring shot in his 10 overs (he conceded eight wides).
