LEE Harris caught a 25-yard pass from Alex Van Pelt with 18 seconds remaining to finish off a Kansas City rally and bring the Chiefs a 24-17 victory over the Houston Oilers. Houston took a 17-6 lead 10 minutes deep in the third quarter on a one-yard run by Spencer Tillman, but the Chiefs rallied, thanks in no small part to the NFL's new two-point conversion rule. Lake Dawson scored on a 52-yard run with 2:52 to play in the third quarter and John Stephens then ran in for two extra points that brought the Chiefs within three. Lin Elliott then kicked a 41-yard field goal with 5:40 to play in the game to tie it up. The Oilers took a 10-6 half-time lead on a 64-yard interception return by Cris Dishman and a 24-yard field goal from Al Del Greco. Elliott kicked field goals of 24 and 28 yards for the Chiefs in the first half.
