TURNOVER on the Shenzhen B-share market rocketed yesterday as investors caught some of this week's A-share mania.
The Credit Lyonnais Shenzhen B-share index jumped 26.45 points, or 2.46 per cent, to close at 1,100.25 on turnover of HK$12.7 million. Turnover on Thursday was just $2.1 million.
China Bicycle was again the most actively traded stock, accounting for 56 per cent of total market activity. It closed 3.2 per cent at $6.40.
Another 17 per cent of turnover went to Southern Glass which closed unchanged at $8.
Many counters saw trade take place, a rare occurrence over the past few months when activity has been restricted to a mere handful of shares a day.
Victor Onward, Gintian, Shekou Port, Chiwan Wharf and Zhongchu all outperformed the market on thin turnover.
