China ports exhibition to be held at year-end
PORT expansion and waterway construction in China will be the focus of interest at China Portex '94, the fourth international exhibition taking place at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre from December 6 to 10.
China Portex, the most important port exhibition in the Far East, is co-organised by Hamburg Messe and Congress, the China Ports and Harbours Association and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
The event is also enjoying the special support of Li Tang-qing, China's Deputy Prime Minister, and the China State Shipbuilding Corp.
The main emphasis of the fourth port exhibition in Hamburg's twin city of Shanghai is the areas in which China may be expected to continue investing heavily.
They include port construction, port equipment, port administration, waterway construction, port safety and security, port services and waste disposal, shipbuilding, ship repairs, and marine and offshore technology.
The expansion and modernisation of China's ports and waterways are two of the country's most important future tasks and enjoy top priority.
