SINGAPORE'S Trade Development Board (TDB) is leading a group of nine companies to Beijing to participate in the China International Computer Expo for the first time.

  The TDB said participating companies included those in software development, and those dealing in computer hardware and telecommunications.

  The China International Computer Expo '94 begins today and ends on August 13.

  The TDB said it hoped to promote Singapore as a source of computer, software and computer-related products.

  Last year, Singapore's total exports of computer systems, peripherals and parts to China stood at about US$29.4 million, according to the TDB.

   A RANGE of new PC products has been released on to the market by Legend Holdings.

  The products include 15 motherboards incorporating VESA, ISA and PCI bus standards.

   SCSI cards and multimedia products are also being introduced in an effort to diversify Legend's product line.

   Motherboards developed by Legend use environmentally-friendly materials.

    These motherboards could support high-performance CPUs, including the Intel 486 DX4 running at 100 MHz.

 QUANTUM, a leading supplier of hard drives, is launching a new line of PCMCIA flash memory cards in the US.

  The Type I and Type II cards offer between one and 10 megabytes of storage and are designed mainly for the mobile computing markets.

  CLARIS Corp has begun shipping ClarisDraw in a Power Macintosh and 68000-based version.

   The company also announced the release of a native Power Macintosh version of MacWrite Pro 1.5.

  ClarisDraw represents the continuation of the MacDraw Pro and MacDraw II line of drawing products.

 NEWPOWER is releasing three new additions to its PC product range.

  These include a 486 colour notebook with an integrated 12-bit compatible card bundled with an Olivetti JP50 ink-jet printer, a PCMCIA fax modem card and 20-and 17-inch colour monitors that offer 1280x1024 resolution.
