A CABLE television sub-contractor has admitted having sex with his former teacher's 13-year-old granddaughter and indecently assaulting the girl months earlier. The 21-year-old defendant pleaded guilty to indecently assaulting the girl on Christmas Day, 1992, and later having unlawful sexual intercourse. The girl was introduced to the accused through her family in August 1992. His counsel, Keith Yeung, submitted that the relationship between the pair was a genuine one and the accused had intended to marry her. The girl regarded the accused as a good friend, counsel said. Prosecutor Anna Lai said the indecent assault took place on the afternoon of December 25, 1992, when the defendant and the girl, then 12, were left alone in his Kowloon flat. He removed her clothes and fondled her breasts. At her New Territories home on August 6 last year, he had sex with the girl, then aged 13 years and seven months. The court heard she was a willing party on both occasions. District Court Judge Caird called for a probation report and adjourned sentencing until August 25.
