TAM Tsz-kwan must feel like a king indeed. The outstanding science student of King's College has brought honour to his school with a dazzling 10 distinctions in the HKCEE.
Tsz-kwan's A score reads: English Language A(1), Chinese Language A(2), Mathematics A(1), Additional Mathematics A(1), Physics A(1), Chemistry A(1), Biology A(1), Chinese History A(1), Economics A(1), and Principal of Accounts A(1).
''I set myself a goal of getting as many As as possible for my school,'' Tsz-kwan said. ''You may say I did my best.'' Tsz-kwan attributes his brilliant performance to a simple, tried-and-tested formula - daily revision.
''I spend about two to three hours a day on my books. Consistent hard work, I suppose, is the secret.'' Support from fellow students, family and friends was also a source of strength.
''We encourage each other in school, and aim for good results,'' Tsz-kwan said. ''My class fixed itself a goal of 82 As this year, and I'm happy with my contribution.
''My family and friends were very supportive, and this helped me to feel relaxed.'' Tsz-kwan the scholar believes in being socially active in school. He is a prefect and an environmentally active Green Leader, as well as a member of various school clubs such as the Physics, Electronics and Computer Clubs. He finds that study and extra-curricular activities can, in fact, be a ''good mix''.
