CHONG Nga-yee has always been a top student, but she still could not believe her eyes when saw the eight As on her HKCEE results slip.
The SKH Lam Woo Memorial Secondary School student gained A(1)s in Chinese Language, English Language (Syllabus B), Religious Studies, Physics, Biology, Mathematics and Additional Mathematics, and an A(2) in Chemistry.
''I was stunned! I had expected at most four As and four Bs,'' Nga-yee said.
The A(1) in Biology was a special treat.
''My performance in biology tended to fall off when I joined Form Four. I found it hard to get the right approach to the subject.'' However, she has learnt that hard work does pay off, even with a tricky topic.
Nga-yee has been first in class since Form Two.
She attributes her good results to diligence, a good study environment in school and an ''excellent study mood'' among the students.
